The 21-year-old woman who died on Tuesday in an accident in Maasbree was an agent in training. Some of the emergency services who rushed to the scene after the collision also knew the victim.
This is reported by the local police on social media. He speaks of ‘a nightmare’ and writes: ‘The worst thing that can happen to you as a police officer has come true. One of the victims turned out to be our beloved colleague Pien. Despite the fact that employees of the various emergency services really pulled out all the stops and fought for her life, Pien died of her injuries on the spot.’

On Tuesday it went wrong on the N275 near Maasbree in Limburg. A passenger car (not a police vehicle) and a truck collided there at the end of the morning. The emergency services rushed to the scene, including a trauma helicopter landed. However, help was of no avail. The Forensic Investigation Team is investigating the cause of the accident.
