A photovoltaic system on a company roof in Heitersheim caught fire on Thursday afternoon. The fire was extinguished on Friday with no injuries. The property damage is likely to amount to several 10,000 euros. There is no evidence of arson.

This Friday morning, June 24th, 2022, around 9:00 a.m., there was another fire at the plant. The fire brigade and rescue workers responded again. Due to the heavy smoke development, a nearby discounter had to be evacuated as a precaution.

The fire has now been extinguished and smoke has stopped. The cause of the renewed outbreak of fire is not yet known. The cleared discounter can be operated again.
