Police take stock of the first Saturday shopping after Corona forced break

In Hesse, the shops are open again after the corona-related forced break. The police are satisfied.

Frankfurt am Main – In bright sunshine, shops in Hesse have opened for the first time since the corona-related mandatory break on Saturday.

The police headquarters were satisfied with the behavior of the people in the afternoon. “Everything is more than manageable for the Central Hesse area,” said a spokesman for the police in Gießen.

There are no reports of violations. Since Monday, shops with less than 800 square meters of retail space have been able to receive customers again – with strict application of the distance and hygiene rules.

The police also reported no abnormalities from other parts of Hesse. “It’s all in the frame,” said a spokesman for the Kassel police.

Until the afternoon there was not much going on, there were no “huge lines” in front of the shops. The police in Wiesbaden were just as satisfied as the colleagues from Offenbach.

“Everything is the same,” it said from the police headquarters south-east in Darmstadt.

According to a spokesman, there have been no major violations in Frankfurt. The police also have four demonstrations there on Saturday afternoon and, according to a spokesman, are checking whether the requirements laid down by the assembly authority, such as the distance regulations, are being met.

“We think that’s possible,” said a spokesman. Very large areas, such as those at the Alte Oper or Eschenheimer Tor, were selected.

The number of participants is therefore limited to a maximum of 50.
