Over 100 people gathered in District 5 in Zurich on Saturday to demonstrate for the security of refugees in Greece. In order for the demonstration to comply with the Federal Council’s ban on assembly, the initiators opted for cars.

But before the around 30 vehicles, including bicycles, could start driving, the city police stopped them. They blocked the unauthorized demonstration procession from all sides and expelled the demonstrators from the square. Most of the demonstrators then left.

Not all activists followed the instruction
Not all followed the police’s instructions: «Around 30 of them stopped at Heinrichstrasse with around 16 vehicles. As a result, they were subjected to a personal check and dismissed, »the police said.
