Police confiscated an airgun belonging to the suspect’s Pajero driver with the initials OK (40). persecution truck driver in North Jakarta. The suspect is known to have purchased the airgun online.
“The suspect bought the weapon online for Rp 3.5 million and has been in possession for 1.5 years,” said North Jakarta Metro Police Deputy Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Nasriadi in a statement to reporters, Wednesday (30/6/2021).
The perpetrator said OK did not have a permit to own the airgun. The perpetrator never had a gun ownership permit when he bought the suspect’s Taiwan-made airgun from 1.5 years ago.
OK is said to have admitted to using the gun to shoot animals in his home. Apart from that activity, OK is said to have admitted that he never used his weapon again before removing his airgun at the truck driver who was the victim persecution.
“These weapons were often used to shoot rats and fish at his house in Tanjung Priok and were also used at the time of the incident,” said Nasriadi.
The police said that OK issued his airgun at the victim in front of the Artha Gading Mall, North Jakarta. The action was taken after the victim sounded the horn at the suspect OK.
The upset suspect then went down and pulled out his airgun. Police said the action was done as a threat to the perpetrators. The airgun is said to be empty.
“He showed the weapon to the victim, the driver of the tronton, so the driver became afraid and fled towards Priok,” said Nasriadi.
The investigation into the use of firearms by the perpetrator began with the testimony of the victim. The victim admitted to the police that the suspect was also pointed at him with a gun.
The suspect who was arrested by the police on Monday (28/6) has also been asked for information regarding indications of the use of the firearm. However, the suspect still insisted that he only abused the victim using a stick.
“Yes, that’s right (the victim admitted being pointed at a gun). We are still investigating the suspect’s statement, we don’t just believe it. We don’t just believe the suspect’s statement, he said it wasn’t a gun, sir, it was a stick I pointed at him. only,” said Nasriadi when contacted on Wednesday (30/6).
