The new Executive Order of Governor Wanda Vázquez, allows the Puerto Rico Police intervene with citizens who do not cover their faces.

This was confirmed by Secretary of Public Affairs of Fortaleza, Osvaldo Soto in an interview with Radio Isla.

“If it is not covered (in reference to the mouth and nose) the Police could intervene with people,” said the official in the radio interview.

“It is mandatory, not optional,” added Soto.

People who do not comply with the measures imposed in the Executive Order are exposed to a fine of up to $ 5,000 and / or a prison sentence of up to 6 months. Recently, the Governor signed a bill that made these penalties a law for any citizen who breaches any Executive Order.

Regarding other violations, the uniformed has made some 635 arrests, among the first two executive orders, and intervened with 266 drivers for violating the measure of traffic on the country’s roads depending on the latest number of the vehicle tablet. This last measure was canceled without effect today, Monday.
