Police Intercept Suspicious Car: Driver Arrested for Driving With Suspended License and No Insurance

Police Prince Dao Tung intercepted a suspicious private car and revealed that the 54-year-old driver had committed two crimes

Members of the Traffic Task Force of the Police Kowloon East Region conducted an operation against driving while license plates were suspended in the region at about 11 am today (16th), intercepting and checking suspicious vehicles. During the operation, police officers intercepted a suspicious-looking private car on Prince Edward Road East near King Tai Street. After preliminary investigation, the driver of the car, a 54-year-old man surnamed Chen, was suspected of “driving while his license plate was suspended” and “driving without a third party.” Insurance company” was arrested. The arrested man has been released on bail pending further investigation and must report to the police in mid-November.

The Police reiterated that “driving while suspended” and “driving without third-party insurance” are serious offenses. Upon conviction of both offenses, each is punishable by a fine of $10,000 and imprisonment for 12 months. The police will continue to strengthen law enforcement and crack down on related crimes, and appeal to motorists not to take advantage of the law.
