Police in Ostrava saved a senior’s life on Saturday. They entered the apartment through a window

“Shortly after two o’clock in the morning, the announcer turned to the emergency line today that he heard a call for help while walking the dog on Karolíny Světlé Street in Ostrava – Přívoz,” police spokeswoman Pavla Jiroušková described the beginning of the intervention.

Police patrols set out for the scene, both from the local department and the patrol service department and special law enforcement units.

While inspecting the area, the men of the law found that the call for help came from the courtyard of one of the houses, specifically from a ground floor apartment.

“As there was a reasonable suspicion that the lives and health of people were endangered, the police used a half-open window and broke in. Here they found an injured elderly woman, who began to provide assistance and called paramedics,” the spokeswoman added.

The woman confided in the police that she had fallen in the evening and was unable to get up and call for help.

“At one point, the 67-year-old lady’s health began to deteriorate, and according to her symptoms, everything indicated a stroke.
