Police fine citizens who went out to do sports for not respecting distances

The possibility of leaving the house for a few hours, after almost two months of confinement, and the arrival of a spring time with high temperatures, have caused this Sunday to occur multi-day scenes in the main Spanish cities, which may jeopardize the measures taken to curb the coronavirus pandemic.

In the south of Madrid, hundreds of people have left this afternoon to do sport, taking the children out or walking the dog, as shown by the images taken at the Segovia Bridge and the Puerta de Toledo. The confusing instructions on time slots given by the Ministry of Health, led by Salvador Illa, have not helped contain this human tide.

Although some of the passers-by covered their faces with a mask to protect themselves, the recommended distances have not always been kept to avoid infection. For this reason, the Local Police has imposed fines on some athletes who traveled the area, as shown in the video accompanying this news.
