Last Friday, the police in Suriname discovered a marijuana field with almost 600 plants in a road behind the Moiwana monument in the Marowijne district.
The field was discovered by the Support Team Team East of the Surinamese police together with the Albina police during the heightened surveillance.
In addition to the field, 66 marijuana plants that had just been sown and three half-bags of dried stems and leaves were also found. The owner and or the interested party was not found on site, reports the Suriname Police Force.
After coordination with the Surinamese Public Prosecution Service, the field with the marijuana planting and an associated camp were destroyed. The bags of dried stems and leaves were also burned.
Efforts are underway to track down and arrest these suspect(s).
