At two o’clock in the afternoon of yesterday, January 1, 2021, the First Technical Warrant Officer of the National Police Raúl López Chávez, who was in critical condition suffering from Covid19, died at EsSalud Hospital III.

Since last December 15, the cash fought against this disease, however, his body, was weakening little by little until it expired today.

His relatives went to the hospital to remove the body to take him home to watch over him and later give him a Christian burial, but they were told that they will deliver him tomorrow at 9 am after being cremated in the private cemetery of Nuevo Chimbote.

Raúl López had 29 years of service in the National Police, with the Canine Police being the last unit in which he worked. It is precisely in this unit that he began to feel a fever on December 11 and asked his superior boss for permission to go to evaluate his health, however, they denied it, Rocío Acosta Saavedra, lawyer and cousin of the deceased police officer, told our environment .

He added that his cousin was forced by his boss to work with a fever on December 11, 12 and 13. “He had asked for permission not to work that day 11, but his boss did not accept him, who on the contrary made him work,” said his cousin Rocío Acosta Saavedra.

The day after the last date of work, he went to the PNP Health Department, still in a delicate state of health, and they only recommended rest and prescribed Paracetamol pills to reduce fever.

Given that he was not improving, his family decided to take him to the EsSalud hospital where he was evaluated and they found that he had Covid19, so they decided to hospitalize him, added Rocío Acosta.

Due to his critical condition, as the virus aggressively attacked his lungs, the hospital decided to admit him to the ICU while his family members waited for God to perform the miracle and fully recover him to have him at home again.
