Police deploy water cannon against demonstrators in The Hague | Inland

About two hundred protesters against the corona policy had gathered in The Hague earlier in the evening. Dozens of them have since gone to Bezuidenhoutseweg, where they face the police. It is now in line. The water cannon is also coming. Dozens of cobblestones that have already been thrown are scattered across the street.

Just like during previous corona press conferences, the activists held a noise protest in order to disrupt the announcement of new corona measures by outgoing Prime Minister Mark Rutte and healthcare minister Hugo de Jonge.

Noise demonstrations were also held at previous corona press conferences. At the previous press conference, the police cleared the area around Turfmarkt after disturbances. The police were pelted with, among other things, heavy fireworks and stones. Thirteen people were arrested. At the corona press conference on September 14, problems also arose due to the demonstration. Due to the threatening atmosphere, the ministry was closed for some time, so that officials and journalists were temporarily unable to leave the building.
