Trondheim police say they do not suspect anything criminal happened after they were notified of a possible kidnapping on Sunday.
– The police have been in contact with suspected offenders. She has provided police with information indicating that she was not subject to any criminal offense, Trøndelag police district writes in a press release Sunday morning.
It was Sunday morning that Adresseavisen wrote that the police investigated a kidnapping in Trondheim.
– We are investigating a kidnapping, or what is called a custodial sentence in the Criminal Code. A witness saw a woman involuntarily placed in a car in downtown Trondheim just after 3 p.m. Sunday, police attorney John R. Sødahl Furunes of the Trøndelag Police District told the newspaper Sunday morning.
Police say in the press release sent out Sunday morning that the car owner was arrested without drama at his residence at 6.55am.
– He was questioned at Trondheim city police station on Sunday morning. He misunderstands the charge and believes it is due to a misunderstanding, police write.
The car owner is now being released.
– The police no longer suspect that a criminal offense has been committed, the police write.
