Police catch a drunken scooter driver in the center of Riga; initially denies the use of a degree drink In the spotlight

The police in the center of Riga have caught a drunken scooter steering wheel, who at the beginning denied the use of a gradual drink, reports the program “Degpunkta”.

On a holiday night, a shared electric scooter with two people appeared in front of the road police officers patrolling Avotu Street. The vehicle was piloted by a young woman, but an apparently intoxicated young man was sitting in the passenger seat. The police have been attracted by the fact that the young woman has caused some difficulties in driving.

“The manner of driving showed that the driver may not have something right, because unbalanced movements were noticeable, as well as inaccurate driving on the driveway. When approaching the scooter, it was requested to stop, ”says Guntis Bērziņš, a representative of the Riga Municipal Police Latgale Region Board.

When asked if the driver had drunk, she answered in the negative, although the police ‘smell showed otherwise. Therefore, the men continued to ask questions until the girl had no choice but to confess.

“Well, two cocktails,” she pushed out.

Upon receiving such information, the employees of the State Traffic Police were summoned to the scene, who, during an alcohol test, found almost a dozen alcohol in the driver’s breath.

Afterwards, the scooter driver was handed over to the State Road Police for further procedural actions.

Although the penalty that a scooter driver will receive for drunk driving is much lower than for drunk drivers, it must be remembered that it is pure madness for a drunk driver to drive with such a ride! One can only imagine how painful it would be to learn to land on asphalt practically without any protective equipment.
