The police are looking for about 25 youths who were involved in the serious assault of a 55-year-old man on Plein 1944 in Nijmegen on Friday evening. According to the police, the group of young people consisted of about twenty boys and five girls, probably between 16 and 25 years old.
The victim from Nijmegen sustained fractures during the abuse and fell unconscious for a short time, a spokesperson reported to NU.nl. He had to be taken to hospital.
The man got into an altercation with the young people on Friday evening. Then a brawl ensued, in which the victim was elbowed and kicked several times.
Between six and eight people in the group continued to kick the victim while he was already on the ground. After the attack, the youngsters ran away.
After conversations with the victim and some possible witnesses, the police are now looking for the group of young people.
The camera images of the square are currently being investigated. The police ask witnesses to report.
