Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC: The Teal Mask – Release Date, New Evolutions, and Area Zero Expansion

The Pokémon Company announced at the Pokémon Presents event that the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet will be released for Nintendo Switch on September 13. The second part should be out sometime in the winter.

The first half of the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC is called The Teal Mask. The player goes on a school trip to the Kitakami region in the expansion. In that new game world, the Loyal Three festival takes place, a tribute to the three legendary Pokémon, namely Okidogi, Munkidori and Fezandipiti. Players will also take on the villain Ogerpon. In the region, the player encounters several older generations of the titular creatures, previously not found in the Paldea region.

In the trailer below, some new evolutions of Pokémon can be seen and a flying mechanic seems to be added to the game. The Teal Mask is the first part of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC pack. The Indigo Disk is due out later this year. No exact release date has been shared for that yet.
