We all know that Pokémon is incredibly popular and that includes hefty amounts.
Let’s go back a year, to a period without Covid-19 and isolation. The year is 2019, and it is one of the greatest years for Pokémon. Detective Pikachu appears on the silver screen, Pokémon Sword & Shield sell better than previous parts and other merchandise also benefits from this. So much so that The Pokémon Company raised a whopping $ 4.2 billion in 2019. This compared to an amount of $ 2.98 billion in 2018.
This massive increase has enabled The Pokémon Company to take 11th place in the top 150 global licensees. Last year they were still in 23rd place in the same list.
