What is a smoke day? This event will held for the second time in May and focuses on the item “smoke”. You can then get special Pokémon out of the smoke for 6 hours.
This time the focus is on Kanivanha. This is how you will find this Pokémon and other monsters of the Unlight and Water type.
Smoke day with Kanivanha – start time and bonuses

When: Sunday, May 17th, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time
Pokémon of the day: Kanivanha
Bonus: Every hour, smoke draws Pokémon from other types
Bonus: You can buy 3x smoke for a Poké coin
You should know this at the times: The type of Pokémon that spawns changes every hour. If you need an Unlight Pokémon, you should only stop by every 2 hours. In the case of water Pokémon, the other hours are interesting.

Take advantage of the smoke tag – how it works
This is the schedule: So that you know exactly which Pokémon spawn when, we show you the schedule again:
- 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m .: Water Pokémon
- 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m .: Unlight Pokémon
- 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m .: Water Pokémon
- 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m .: Unlight Pokémon
- 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m .: Water Pokémon
- 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m .: Unlight Pokémon
What water Pokémon are there? Seeper, Schallquap and Mamolida have been announced. Seeper is particularly interesting because it can be a shiny.
Other conceivable spawns are Krabby, Schiggy, Quapsel, Tentacha, Karpador, Lampi and Schmerbe.
What Unlight Pokémon Are There? The Pokémon Kramurx, Zobiris and Zurrokex are announced here. Zurrokex is exciting because so far only received from the PvP League as a reward. Here you get the opportunity for the first time outside of the event.
Pokémon like Fiffyen or Alola-Rattfratz could also spawn. However, the list of the Unlight Pokémon is much shorter than that of the Water Pokémon.
Will there be Shiny Kanivanha? The shiny is already in the game and you will be able to catch it throughout the event. At the Rauch day with Wiesor Wiesor was more common than Shiny. So it is conceivable that this will also be the case with Kanivanha.
Which hours are more worthwhile? Rarely, you should take at least one Zurrokex with you. Some will still lack development here, so you should also think about Sanana berries here.
Otherwise, you should consider which type you need even more Shinys for and then concentrate on these hours.

Should you go out during the event? You won’t get more event spawns. The smoke already attracts a Pokémon every minute and you can catch it almost continuously. If you move, you will no longer attract monsters.
Currently, however, is running the Hoenn event. You can combine this with the smoke tag and catch Pokémon from the smoke, e.g. Kanivanha and Hoenn-Spawns, such as Eneco.
Prepare properly: If you want to take with you every 6 hours, you should have enough balls. We recommend a minimum of 400 balls, because otherwise you will quickly have nothing left to catch Pokémon with.
Thanks to some adjustments, you can currently get a lot of balls from gifts. So that goes Niantic against the lack of players.
