The weeks of events in the Pokémon GO Fest sequel follow one another! After the Dragon Week and his Rayquaza, make way for the Enigmatic Week and its Deoxys ! The Legendary Alien is only available in Normal form, in Level 5 Raids, and until August 14 on Pokémon GO. Find here his best counters and all our tips to overcome them as effectively as possible!

Information about Deoxys

• Deoxys is only available in Level 5 raids. Try to capture it with the weather condition Windy : it will be harder to beat but stronger once you get it. Rain will help your Bug-type counters and Fog will help your Dark-type counters. Watch out for the partly cloudy weather which boosts Deoxys’ Ultralaser (which is its best attack, we’ll come back to that).

• Deoxys normal form can go up to 1806 CP at level 20 and 2257 CP with the weather boost (level 25 therefore). The more PCs there are, the better IVs you will get! The Deoxys with the least CP is the defense form but it is essential to know that only this defense form is useful in combat (for PVP players). The normal form is only there to complete your Pokédex and get an awesome new Shiny Pokémon.

• In terms of statistics, remember that Deoxys is a Pokémon fairly average. In its normal form, it has a monstrous attack stat but a defense so weak that it can be vaporized very quickly. List of the best counters in Deoxys

Deoxys is a pure Psy type, like Mewtwo. You should already have several good counters to deal with him. It is weak to Dark, Insect, and Ghost types. Here are his best counters. Note that this list was produced using battle simulators, it is really reliable:

Note that if you don’t have excellent Dimoret and Dark Tyranitar, these two Pokémon are also extremely effective in their normal versions.

About Deoxys attacks

Deoxys normal form has access to two quick attacks : Charged Ray (Electric type) and Psykoud’Boul (Psychic type). And three charged attacks : Ultralaser (Normal type), Élecanon (Electric type) and Psycho-Boost (Psycho-type).

Psychic attacks hit Specter Pokémon but are resisted by the Dark Pokémon. You know what you have to do if you come across a Deoxys with Psykoud’Boul and / or Psycho-Boost.

Ultralaser is the only dangerous ability, to avoid. Considering Deoxys’ attack stat, this can hurt quite a bit.

Recommended number of players according to your level of trainer

If you have his best counters, Deoxys can be easily crushed to two players or level 40 players. If you don’t have the best possible team and you’re not at max level, go to 4 players, Deoxys can hurt quite a bit.
