PMI Tangerang conducts counseling to prevent dengue outbreaks

Tangerang (ANTARA) – PMI Tangerang City conducted counseling on the 3M Plus Movement and sprayed residents’ homes in Bugel Mas Housing, Bugel Village, Karawaci District to prevent the outbreak of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DBD).

Head of Communication and Publication Division of PMI Tangerang City Andri Permana in Tangerang, Tuesday, said that this activity was carried out because in the area of ​​RW 6 Bugel Mas Housing, there were already suspected dengue fever.

“This spraying activity was at the request of the community, after a number of residents in this residential area were found to have been bitten by mosquitoes carrying the dengue virus and this time we carried it out in the residential area of ​​Bugel Mas, Bugel Village, Karawaci District,” said Andri Permana.

Currently PMI Kota Tangerang together with the community, starting from the family, are promoting a clean and healthy life, maintaining a clean environment from standing water as a place for mosquito growth.

“We also invite the role of residents in protecting the housing environment by cleaning waterways and not creating a place for mosquito breeding grounds,” he said.

Junaedi as Head of Bugel Mas Urban Village said that 3M activities that the community can do are cleaning water reservoirs and closing meetings afterwards. Then ensure that used items that are potential for mosquito breeding are given away.

“If there is a container for water that is difficult to clean, then abate powder can be sprinkled as an effort to prevent the emergence of mosquito breeds,” he said.

Endra Gunawan, Head of RW 06 Bugel Mas Housing, expressed his appreciation for the fooging activity carried out with PMI Kota Tangerang. According to him, efforts to prevent dengue fever need to be done so that the virus caused by the Aedes aegypti mosquito does not infect the community.

“The eradication of mosquito nests by means of fogging is an effort to prevent the BDB virus. Today, together with PMI Tangerang City District, we are doing fogging. We thank you and hope that PMI will continue to be of benefit to many people,” he said.
