Playstation and Nintendo Stop Operations in Russia

Sony Interactive Entertainment (Playstation) and Nintendo Co Ltd announced sanctions against Russia following the invasion of Ukraine. The Japanese gaming company has suspended shipments of game software and hardware to Russia.

Sony, which makes the PlayStation game console, said it canceled the launch of its Gran Turismo 7 game in Russia citing Reuters, Friday (11/3). In addition, Sony has also suspended the PlayStation Store in Russia.

As for Nintendo, they argued that they were postponing the delivery of all products to Russia “for the foreseeable future due to the considerable changes surrounding the logistics of shipping and physically distributing goods”.

Nintendo has also postponed the launch of Advance Wars 1+2: Re-boot Camp, which was scheduled to hit the Nintendo Switch on April 8.

Sony will provide assistance worth US $ 2 million through the United Nations High Commission for victims of the Russo-Ukrainian war.

This grant will be handed over to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the international NSO Save the Children.

Previously Microsoft stopped all sales for products such as Xbox, software.

During the war between Russia and Ukraine, many technology companies imposed sanctions on Russia. For social media industries like Facebook, Twitter, TikTok restrict access in Russia.

Auto companies have also suspended service in Russia as a form of sanctions for the invasion of Ukraine.
