PlayStation 5 supports AMD’s FSR technology at Arcadegeddon • Eurogamer.pt

Just like Microsoft’s Xbox Series X / S consoles.

It was supposed to be, but now it’s revealed through the first console game to support the FidelityFX Super Resolution from AMD, and PlayStatiion 5 is compatible with that technology.

It was already certain that the consolas Xbox Series X/S would support FSR, but now with the information that Arcadegeddon, announced on July 8th of this month for PC and PS5, supports AMD’s tool on both PC and PS5.

AMD FidelityFX makes it easy to implement various imaging techniques, such as ambient occlusion, variable shading, and even custom sharpening techniques. But one of the most awaited features is what AMD calls FidelityFX Super Resolution, this being AMD’s answer to NVIDIA’s DLSS.

Now it’s time to wait for more games to implement FidelityFX Super Resolution, so that more fluidity can be achieved without losing too much image quality when played at a resolution below 4K.
