Jakarta

Plastic surgery has recently become a public spotlight after Lucinta Luna underwent a number of these procedures. This makes some people interested in changing their appearance.

Plastic surgery is done by a number of people aiming to beautify their physical condition. However, if the operation ends up failing, can a person’s physique return to normal?

Professor of plastic surgery David S Perdanakusuma, SpBP-RE(K) said that plastic surgery is generally carried out with the correct procedure and minimal possibility of failure.

“The goal is to make it more beautiful, so if the procedure is correct and the patient’s condition is healthy, it will almost certainly be successful,” he said in an e-life session, Friday (15/7/2022).

Prof David also explained that the risk of failure when performing plastic surgery is definitely there. It is usually caused by the patient not following the procedure properly.

“The risk is definitely there, but usually the patient does the wrong procedure. For example, he wants to increase the volume of his breasts, but uses liquid silicone when he should use solid silicone,” he said.

“If you use solid silicone, for example there is a problem, you just need to remove it, it’s easy. But if you use liquid silicone that is injected, it’s difficult because the liquid spreads and usually takes several operations, some even up to a dozen times,” he continued.

When this happens, it will be difficult to restore the patient’s physical form as before. He also advised to always follow the operating procedures correctly.

“If you are rich like that, it is usually difficult to return to normal. So, follow the plastic surgery procedures correctly so that the results are also maximal,” he concluded.
