In this weekend’s Pokémon Presents, the ninth generation of Pokémon was officially revealed, as The Pokémon Company confirmed that at the end of 2022 we will see Pokémon Violet y Pokémon Scarlet for Nintendo Switch. However, fans have discovered clues to this new installment in the previous titles, Pokémon Sword & Shield.
A few days ago we saw the first official trailer for Pokémon Violet and Pokémon Scarlet, the new generation of Pokémon that will arrive on Nintendo Switch this year. According to what we could see in the trailer, it seems that the region in which Violet & Scarlet takes place is inspired by the country of Spainas some locations seem to be inspired by real-life places such as the Sagrada Familia church.

Now that we know that the new generation of Pokémon seems to be inspired by Spain, fans of the series discovered clues to Pokémon Violet & Scarlet in Sword & Shield, as a room that showed a room blocked by a red tape showed us a wallpaper of grapes and oranges. Oranges and grapes are the national fruits of Spain and we could see them in the trailer for the new deliveries.
This is not the first time that a Pokémon game has given us clues about what awaits us for the next generation, because the first time this happened was in Pokémon Gold & Silver, which had clues for Ruby & Sapphire. However, since Pokémon Violet & Scarlet was just announced this weekend, we’ll have to wait a bit longer for The Pokémon Company to reveal more details about the new generation; confirm if it is inspired by Spain.
