Belarus’ second entry for Eurovision has also been rejected, country disqualified | Show

The earlier number Ya nauchu tebya of Belarus was already rejected by the EBU. The Galasy ZMesta song had a political message and that is not allowed by the rules. The lyricists were given a second chance and were allowed to make an adapted version or new song. Broadcaster BTRC and the writers were allowed to submit a new entry no later than today.

A statement from the EBU, which the organization released today, shows that the second submission has not been approved. Belarus has thus been officially disqualified. “The EBU and the contest’s board of directors carefully examined the new submission to assess whether it was eligible to enter,” the organization said. ‘It was concluded that the new entry also violated the rules of the competition (…) As BTRC did not submit an eligible entry within the extended deadline, Belarus will unfortunately not participate in the 65th Eurovision Song Contest in May . ‘
