Pilates, the Korean Secret to a Slim and Healthy Body

Did you know, behind the slim and healthy body of Koreans, there is a fitness exercise that they do? This is also done by celebrities to maintain ideal body posture and maintain their health in the midst of their busy lives.

Pilates is a series of slow but focused movements accompanied by deep breathing. Pilates which aims to achieve harmonization between body and mind consists of various movements that focus on the abdomen, waist, pelvis, and thighs. Even though it’s a sport low-impact and low risk, Pilates helps build muscle endurance, strength, and flexibility.

Not only to achieve the ideal body weight, Pilates also trains the strength and flexibility of the core muscles of the body. The core muscles of the body are muscles that are involved in almost every movement of the human body.

Chinese researchers revealed changes that occur in the brain activity of a woman after 10 weeks of Pilates. They found an increase in brain cognitive function associated with neural network activity, memory performance, and other cognitive functions.

4. Prevent and reduce pain

Too much sitting and infrequent exercise clearly weakens the muscles of the body in the midsection. When the body’s muscles are weakened, the wrong pillow or a slight sprain can cause you to suffer from prolonged pain, plus the risk of pain that can recur at times.

Pilates strengthens muscles, increases muscle elasticity, and improves joint mobility. A body with balanced strength and flexibility will be more immune and recover faster from injury.
