Pieter Tanuri Released All Indomobil Shares for Rp. 784 Billion, What’s Wrong?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – One of the successful entrepreneurs in the country, and the former owner of the Multistrada tire factory, Pieter Tanuri, sold all shares of PT Indomobil Sukses Internasional Tbk (IMAS) through the company he owns, namely PT Bina Raya Perkasa (BRP).

President Director of Indomobil Sukses Internasional Jusak Kertowidjojo said that BRP as the holder of 22% of IMAS shares released its 878,562,566 shares at a selling price of Rp 892 / share.

“The total transactions reached Rp. 783.68 billion. The sale of shares was carried out on October 1, 2020, with the aim of realizing profits,” said Jusak in an information disclosure on the IDX, quoted Wednesday (14/10/2020).


“With the sale of these shares, BRP will no longer have shares in IMAS,” said Jusak, who is also BRP’s Managing Director.

The buyer is PT Sejahtera Raya Perkasa (SRP) located in Surabaya. Thus SRP became the holder of 22% of IMAS shares or equivalent to 878,562.566 shares.

For information, the Director of SRP, Evensius Go, has also been a Director of IMAS since June 2014. Currently he also serves as a commissioner or director in several Indomobil subsidiaries.

Prior to joining IMAS in 2014, Indomobil’s official website noted, Evensius had worked at PT Salim Chemicals Corpora, PT Multistrada Arah Sarana Tbk, and was a director at PT Indoritel Makmur Internasional Tbk.

On August 25 and 26, Bina Raya also released IMAS shares at a price of Rp 665 / share and Rp 620 / share with total sales reaching 40,741,999 shares.

Jusak, said the sale was a direct investment. Bina Raya previously entered Indomobil through the issuance of new shares with pre-emptive rights (HMETD) or rights issue performed by IMAS.

However, only 5 trading days (considering there is a holiday for Independence Day, Islamic New Year, and collective leave), on August 25 and 26, Bina Raya released IMAS shares.

Referring to IMAS’s rights issue prospectus, it is stated that the relationship between Bina Raya and IMAS is the same thing as the board of directors.

The President Director of Bina Raya is also held by Jusak Kertowidjojo, while the Director for Bina Raya is Evensius Go (also the director of IMAS), while the Commissioner is held by Pieter Tanuri who is the main shareholder of Bina Raya (beneficial owner).

Pieter is one of the country’s conglomerates and former owner of PT Multistrada Arah Sarana Tbk (MASA), which produces Corsa tires, and owner of PT Bali Bintang Sejahtera Tbk (BOLA), the manager of Bali United. Previously Pieter sold MASA to French tire manufacturer Michellin.
