Pierre Palmade avoids imprisonment and stays hospitalized.

Still no jail cell for Pierre Palmade. The investigating chamber of the Paris Court of Appeal confirmed, on March 14, that the comedian would not return to pre-trial detention because of “the evolution of his state of health reducing the risks which had founded the decision to place him in pre-trial detention”. On the other hand, its placement under judicial control was maintained with “ban on leaving the hospital establishment”, specifies Rémy Heitz, the Attorney General of Paris, in a press release.

Placed in pre-trial detention on February 27, the comedian never physically entered prison, having been locked in his hospital bed. On March 7, the judge in charge of the case had accepted, for “medical reasons”, the request for release made by Céline Lasek, the lawyer foractor, but the prosecution had immediately appealed.

Locked up in a hospital room

On Friday February 10, on a departmental road in Seine-et-Marne, at Villiers-en-Bierenear his home in Cély-en-Bière, Pierre Palmade, under the influence of cocaine and synthetic drugs, had caused a tragic traffic accident. The car he was driving hit an oncoming vehicle. In addition to the comedian, this accident had three seriously injured : a 38-year-old man, his six-year-old son and his 27-year-old sister-in-law, who lost the baby she was expecting. He had been my in exam for “homicide and involuntary injuries by driver having used narcotic products in a state of legal recidivism“.

Closely watched by police, he can no longer receive visitors without a permit being issued by the judge. Regarding the case on the possession of child pornography images, no charge weighs on him for the moment.
