Dijon receives this Friday November 26 the visit of the artist Daniel Buren. He comes to inaugurate his new work, “Ascending point of view, work in situ”. It will be exhibited in the garden of the Banque de France for one year.

A world famous artist in Dijon. Daniel Buren, painter, sculptor and plastic artist, inaugurates his new creation on November 26. Named “Bottom-up point of view, in situ work”, it will be exhibited in the garden of the Banque de France for one year.

The work is 35 meters long. It forms an extension effect with the roof of the Hôtel de la Thoison.

The patterns on the structure also echo those of the glazed tiles of the building. The colorful design is printed on a tarpaulin to withstand the vagaries of the weather.

After a first collaboration with Daniel Buren in 2013, Interface launched a new project with the artist in 2019. Created in 1992, this Dijon association provides material and logistical support to artists. It also organizes several exhibitions per year.

Through this partnership, the objective was to bring the Banque de France garden to life by installing a structure visible from the street.

This work is a continuation of the work of Daniel Buren. This one is indeed illustrated by his creations “in situ“, designed for the place in which they are exhibited. The most famous of them is”Les Deux Plateaux “, better known as Colonnes de Buren, located in the courtyard of the Palais-Royal in Paris.
