Many people do just fine with a Chromebook. However, for those who need access to powerful photo, video or music editing software, Chromebooks still cannot replace a traditional laptop.

However, more and more tools are becoming available on the web, which may open up new opportunities for Chrome OS users. The latest example is that Adobe has released web versions of Photoshop and Illustrator, which certainly can not compete with local software.

The web apps are mainly for being able to share, review and comment on projects. Adobe writes that it is possible to perform basic editing on the web without the regular software.
