Photo – Mass at Westminster Abbey… Kate Middleton: Christmas will be different without Queen Elizabeth

Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales and wife of Prince William, paid her respects to the late Queen Elizabeth of England during a service at Westminster Abbey and said the family’s first Christmas without the Queen would have been very different.

King Charles and his wife Queen Camilla joined his son William, his wife Kate and other family members to attend services in the chapel where Queen Elizabeth’s funeral was held in September. The mass took place last week and will be broadcast tomorrow, Saturday.

Kate, who became Princess of Wales following Charles’ accession to the throne, hosted the event and dedicated it to the memory of the late Queen and “all those who are sadly no longer with us”.

“Although we will feel very different this Christmas, we can still look back on the memories and traditions that have brought us together,” Kate said at the start of the service.

Queen Elizabeth died on September 8 at the age of 96, after 70 years assuming the throne.

Kate continued: “Christmas was close to HM The Queen’s heart, as a time to bring people together and remind us of the importance of faith, friendship and family, and to show empathy and compassion.”

The mass was held on December 15, the same day that saw the airing of the latest episodes of the documentary series about Prince Harry and his wife Megan on the ‘Netflix’ platform.

Harry, who stepped down from his royal duties in 2020, has leveled fresh criticism at his family in the series, including accusing his older brother William of yelling at him during a family gathering to discuss his future.
