Today, the legendary musician of the band “Opus Pro”, the king of rock Alex or real name Oleg Andreev, is spent in the last course.

His relatives and admirers of his talent gather at the Crematorium to take the musicians out, while in several cities of Latvia, his music is played at dusk.

In honor of the memory of the musician of the group “Opus Pro” Alex, songs sung by Alex will be performed at dusk at the arched pedestrian bridge over the Ogre River in Ogre, at the Lielvārde Culture House, at the Ikšķile Folk House and at the Ķeģums Folk House.

Alex or real name Oleg Andrejev, leader of the Latvian heavy rock band Opus Pro, co-author of songs such as “You and I”, “Pink Rain”, “Family”, “Last Stop”, “Champion”, father of daughters Aija and Laura.

The musician was born on October 10, 1962, in Daugavpils. Alex has been at the core of the Opus Pro band since 1986 with guitarist and songwriter Harry Zariņš. The group was established in 1986. “Opus Pro” was one of the most popular Latvian groups in the 80’s and 90’s. At the beginning of the nineties he also worked in the USA, as a member of the Latvian group “Riga”. In 2011, after a long break, he returned to the stage, after which he actively collaborated with the former member of the group Harijs Zariņš, his daughter Aija Andrejeva, as well as actively performed as part of Opus Pro. Participated in the recordings of the album “Family”, “I am going to steal you”, “You and I” (together with Aija Andrejeva), “Story No. 13”. In 2015, some of Alex’s original songs were included in Harijs Zariņš’s album “Love Rock Ballads”.

25 years later, in 2015, the album “Riga in America”, recorded in the USA in 1990 by the group “Riga”, was released, in which Alex participated with Ainars Virgs, Uldis Marhilēvičs, Igo and Guntis Vecgailis.

Music was Alex’s whole life, it will continue to sound.
