Phillip Jackson, the sculptor of great dynasties in Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers

Phill Jackson played basketball in the National Basketball Association (NBA), but the most remembered of him was his work as a coach. He was the baton of two of the most dominant dynasties in the history of the sport and was in charge of two of the greatest players of all time.

Phillip Douglas Jacksonyour full name, was born on September 17, 1945 in Montana, USA. His height of 2.03 meters allowed him to easily stand out in college basketball. But in 1967 he had a test with the New York Knicks and they did not see him as gifted, he lacked speed, shooting and some technique, but he made up for all those deficiencies with intelligence.

He had to train a lot to get there, but he did. He was an outstanding substitute for the Knicks and his defensive effort endeared him to tough New York fans. In addition, he was part of the only two titles that the franchise won in its history, those of 1970 and 1973. In 1978 he crossed paths and went on to play for the New Jersey Nets until his retirement in 1980.

Later, he dedicated himself to directing. First he was in Puerto Rican basketball and then in some teams under the USA. But in 1987 he got the opportunity to be an assistant in the Chicago Bullsa team he began managing in 1989. In the franchise of Chicago established himself as one of the best coaches in history. He was in the position until 1998 and in that period he conquered six rings and managed Michael Jordan and those mythical Bulls.

His greatness was enough but he wanted more. For the 1999/2000 season he began directing Los Angeles Lakers of Kobe Bryant y Shaquille O’neal. In a first period he won three championships in a row, in 2000, 2001 and 2002. He left in 2004 after losing the finals against the Pistons and returned in 2005. In this second stage he put on two other rings, in 2009 and in 2010 with Kobe y Pau Gasol like great figures.
