Philips 558M1RY offers 4K at 120 Hz and HDR1000

With the Momentum 558M1RY, Philips has created a monitor with a particularly large diagonal. The model comes with 55 inches and is therefore not interesting for every user. The built-in VA panel has a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels, i.e. the UHD resolution. As a special feature, the monitor will support a frequency of up to 120 Hz and the brightness is particularly high at 1,200 cd / m².

Due to the high brightness and the color accuracy, the model also achieved the DisplayHDR-1000 certification from VESA. According to the data sheet, the DCI-P3 color space is covered to 95% with 10-bit processing and sRBG to 125%. The contrast is given as a high 4,000: 1.

To operate the monitor, a connection via the installed DisplayPort 1.4 is mandatory. This is the only way to transmit a 4K resolution at 120 Hz. Two HDMI 2.0 ports are also available, but the frequency is limited to 60 Hz when used. The equipment also includes an Ambiglow on the back of the monitor and a high-quality speaker.

Philips plans to launch the Momentum 558M1RY in the coming days. The manufacturer has not yet given a price. However, this should not be cheap due to the performance offered.
