Pharmacies work halfway before the intermittent supply of medicines – Noticias de Barquisimeto

Pharmacies in Lara state work at half-speed. Since the quarantine began, problems with the supply of drugs have become a constant and this is reflected in the little inventory that there is in drug stores. Blood pressure pills, insulin, pain relievers and even anti-inflammatories are all in short supply.

According to the data handled by the Venezuelan Pharmaceutical Federation (Fefarven), at the moment there is a shortage of medicines that reaches 85%. To this must be added that many pharmacies cannot work because their employees cannot move around.

Omar Álvarez, president of the College of Pharmacists in Lara state, has denounced this situation on several occasions and points out that it is necessary to develop planning so that the sector is really prioritized
