PT Petrosea Tbk (PTRO) and PT Hyundai Construction Equipment Asia (HCEA), a subsidiary of HD Hyundai Construction Equipment Co. Ltd (HD Hyundai), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (Memorandum of Understanding/MoU) to build strategic partnerships in the mining, construction and heavy equipment sectors in Indonesia.
The signing of the MoU was carried out by President Director of Petrosea, Romi Novan Indrawan, and Chief Financial Officer of Petrosea, Ruddy Santoso, together with CEO of HD Hyundai, Choi Cheol Gon, and President Director of HCEA, Chae Heebum.
This partnership will cover various aspects, incl remanufacturing partnership, strategic machinery distributor partner, human resource development partneras well as the potential for other business collaborations.
Romi said that this partnership would be a good start for both companies to grow and develop in the future.
“We really believe that this MoU will be the start of a strategic partnership that will have a positive impact on the growth of the two companies in the future,” he said in a written statement, Thursday (7/9).
For information, Petrosea is sustainable resources company and multi-disciplinary mining services, EPC, and oil and gas companies.
The company has a wide range of capabilities, including conducting maintenance and refurbishment heavy equipment to support the needs of all of its projects through the Petrosea Rebuild Center (PRC) located in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan.
On the other hand, HD Hyundai has established its position as one of the most reliable manufacturers and suppliers of heavy equipment in the world, including in Indonesia. The company has also maintained its position in the market as one of the leading providers of heavy equipment solutions.
Choi Cheol Gon said that his company hopes to increase cooperation and collaboration with Petrosea.
“After this MoU, HD Hyundai hopes to continue to enhance cooperation and collaboration with Petrosea in other broader distribution sectors,” he said.
Going forward, Petrosea and HCEA will continue to focus on prioritizing social factors and providing sustainable resources and energy, as part of their commitment to prioritizing ESG as a continuation of the two companies’ sustainability strategies.
This partnership is a strategic step for both companies to strengthen their position in the Indonesian heavy equipment market. This partnership is also expected to provide benefits to the mining, construction and heavy equipment industries in Indonesia.
