Peter Gillis has not paid a penalty of 250,000 euros

Oostappen Groep, Gillis’ holiday company, was ordered to pay a penalty for illegally housing migrant workers at the De Berckt holiday park in Baarlo, Limburg. “I didn’t pay. I don’t think they’re entitled to that,” Gillis said in a brief response.

The municipality of Peel en Maas confirmed on Monday that Gillis has indeed not yet complied with the penalty. The municipality will first talk to Gillis. If that doesn’t work, a debt collection agency can eventually be called in.
