Former “Dancing With the Stars” professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd shared an update with her fans.

Murgatroyd recently opened up to People magazine about having suffered three miscarriages over the course of two years while trying to get pregnant with her second child.

“I was completely embarrassed, finally embarrassed. I didn’t even know how to pronounce the words and for that phrase to come out of my mouth: I had a miscarriage. I am someone who takes pride in health and wellness. I workout every day. But as I realized, that doesn’t really go hand in hand with the reproductive system,” Murgatroyd told People.

Murgatroyd has since announced that he will undergo IVF and will keep fans updated on his journey.

Murgatroyd had a ‘disaster’ a day before her egg retrieval

Murgatroyd shared a video of her egg retrieval day on Instagram.

“The night before was a disaster,” Murgatroyd shared with fans. “Maks was in New York finishing up some work and had a flight booked that night to go back to Los Angeles to be with me and take me to egg retrieval. His flight was CANCELLED! He wasn’t rebooked, but he was completely cancelled.”

She added: “Normally this would not be a problem, but the next morning she was asked to give her sample (a fresh sample) to fertilize the eggs. The first flight she was able to take landed at 9 am and I had to have surgery at 9 am

She said she told her husband that she needed to find a way to be there for her, and he ended up arriving on time for the end of the date.

Murgatroyd is ‘hopeful’ after surgery

Murgatroyd shared that after the surgery she is hopeful of retrieving the eggs for fertilization.

“I was unable to get more images inside the operating room and after surgery,” Murgatroyd wrote. “But…. We got 40 eggs from 27 follicles!!! I cried when he told me the number.”

He shared that his doctor was “excited” and “couldn’t believe” the number.

“Now we wait and watch them grow!” she wrote. “I am hopeful and can’t wait to expand our family. I also know this is just the beginning, so I won’t get carried away.”

In the Instagram caption, Murgatroyd thanked his doctor.

“Next level care,” he wrote. “I felt so calm, prepared and ready. The nurses made me laugh after a stressful night and I had the best experience. Dr. Surrey made sure that he was fully aware and informed about every step of the procedure and post-operative care.”

One such nurse gave Murgatroyd more hope when she said she was the tallest

“Fingers crossed we all have some little Chmerkovskiys waiting for us soon!” she concluded.

Murgatroyd told People that she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and that she and her husband wanted to try IVF in hopes that they could have a viable pregnancy.

“For the first time in almost two years, I feel emotional,” she told the outlet. “I am in a much happier place. I have answers.

“Dancing With the Stars” will return in the fall of 2022. The show will air on Disney+ instead of ABC for the first time for both the show and the network.
