Peru suspends flights from the United Kingdom, Brazil and South Africa from March 15 nndc | PERU

After evaluating the changes in the pandemic caused by Covid-19, the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) has established new provisions related to international and national air transport.

Flights from countries whose travel time is greater than eight hours, approved by Ministerial Resolution No. 923-2020-MTC / 01 and suspended by Ministerial Resolution No. 968-2020-MTC / 01 and its extensions, will be resumed. However, flights from the United Kingdom, South Africa and Brazil will continue to be suspended. This restriction will apply from March 15 to March 31.

In this way, flights departing from Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Amsterdam and Paris will be resumed; however, non-resident foreigners from the United Kingdom, South Africa and Brazil or those who have made a stopover in those countries in the last 14 days may not enter the country.

Passengers arriving in Peru must still present a negative molecular test for Covid-19, the result of which has been issued up to 72 hours before the flight, and must comply with a mandatory 14-day quarantine, which may be lifted if there is a negative result. of an antigen test to discard COVID-19, which can be performed upon arrival in the country.

In addition, they must complete the Affidavit of Health and Geolocation Authorization online. The document records the traveler’s data, which will allow health authorities to locate him in case it is detected that he traveled near a person with Covid-19.

The decision taken by the Government responds to the progress of the second wave of COVID-19 and has the objective of reducing the risks of contagion that could be caused by the entry of people infected with the new variant of SARS-CoV-2 on the European continent, Brazil and South Africa. The regulation is signed by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Eduardo González Chávez.

Along these lines, it is recommended to nationals who had scheduled flights to Peru – during these dates – to contact their airline or travel agency in order to manage the rescheduling of their flights.

It is worth mentioning that the Government will stop requesting as a requirement to travel to any national destination the negative result of a molecular or antigen test in order to reactivate internal tourism.
