Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – PT Pertamina (Persero) is now gradually converting the non-subsidized 12 kg blue LPG tube which has been circulating in the market into a pink tube with the Bright Gas brand.
VP of Corporate Communication of Pertamina Fajriyah Usman said this was done by the company to improve Pertamina’s services to the public.
“In order to improve Pertamina’s services for the community, especially regarding household gas needs, Pertamina is gradually exchanging blue-saving 12 kg LPG product cylinders to Bright Gas,” he said via short message to CNBC Indonesia, Saturday (17/10/2020).
Pertamina currently has two types of 12 kg LPG products, namely LPG with blue savings and Bright Gas with pink savings. In the future, he continued, Pertamina will focus on distribution for Bright Gas.
“Bright Gas is equipped with a double spindle valve, making it safer to prevent leakage,” he said.
Although there is an exchange, according to him this does not affect the selling price of LPG. He said the two LPG products had the same price.
“Because actually these two products have the same contents. The price is the same. Nothing has changed the price,” he said.
Thus, he continued, there would be no product withdrawal, but tube replacement. If later a blue tube user wants to refill the gas, the tube that will be given is a pink Bright Gas cylinder. However, according to him this was done in stages.
“If the blue tube users have run out of gas, then when the community buys a 12 kg refill of gas, the cylinder will be given a new Bright Gas cylinder, if the stock at the agent is available. So, it will be done in stages. It does not mean that the blue tube will automatically not apply. again, “he explained.
