The statistics company InStat has chosen the current best players in Europe with its “InStat Index” algorithm. Three Bayern professionals are represented in the top 20, Cristiano Ronaldo only manages 39th place and shares it with Willi Orban.

What is the InStat Index? The company itself claims that numerous teams in Europe use the index as a scouting tool. The index is intended to enable an objective assessment of the quality of the respective player.

Twelve to 14 different factors are taken into account for each position on the field, such as age, minutes played or the strength of the opponents. This results in an index value at the end. The top 20 in Europe:
