Sergio Perez is in his first season for Red Bull. The Mexican has so far won a Grand Prix for his new employer and occupies third position in the World Cup, behind Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton.
The Mexican’s contract contains a unilateral option that Red Bull can take. That seems to be the case now, reports the Spanish AS.
Perez has had a capricious season so far. He alternates strong races with lesser performances. His biggest Achilles heel is qualifying, in which he often concedes the necessary positions compared to Verstappen. His race pace, on the other hand, is often impressive. The Red Bull team management recently praised Perez several times and Verstappen can also go through a door with his new teammate.
