Genk –
In the night from Saturday to Sunday, a fatal traffic accident took place on Brikkenovenstraat. Two in their twenties died, two others were taken to hospital. The Carma police zone reports this.

A passenger car with four occupants drove towards the Hermeslaan and got off the track around 2h30. The emergency services were quickly on the spot. For two passengers, two people from Genk, aged 22 and 24, no help was available. They died on the spot of their injuries. A third person, a 21-year-old resident of Genk, was taken to hospital in critical condition. The 25-year-old driver from Genk was also injured.
A traffic expert from the public prosecutor’s office came on site to investigate the circumstances of the accident, which caused the Brikkenovenstraat to be closed for a while.
