Sustainable
The municipal council has unanimously and non-publicly appointed the 41-year-old communications consultant as the new head of the sustainability management department Sebastian Backhaus elected. As the administration reports, he has already designed and managed various sustainability campaigns, including those of the Federal Environment Ministry. He is an honorary member of the board of the Ökoinstitut. In future, he and his three employees will devote themselves to the “Sustainable Freiburg 2030” concept. He succeeds Simone Pflaum who moves to the Hessian Ministry of the Environment.
Meritorious
For his services to the housing industry Gerhard Kiechle received the golden badge of honor from the Association of Baden-Württemberg Housing and Real Estate Companies. For 38 years he was committed to Bauverein Breisgau, among other things as a member of the supervisory board and as the founding father of the district meeting.
