‘People buy more laptops, but cheaper’

In the third quarter of 2020, Intel’s revenue increased 1 percent to $ 9.8 billion, comparable to the same period last year. Revenue from laptop processors increased by 16 percent, but that from desktop processors decreased by 16 percent.

Although Intel delivered more processors than last year, they were comparatively much more cheap processors. As a result, the average sales price of a supplied laptop processor was 7 percent lower than last year. This would have been caused in particular by working from home.
