Pentagon Suspected of Obstructing Intelligence Bureau Biden Sua Transition Team

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

US President’s men Donald Trump in the US Department of Defense (DoD) is said to prevent the elected President’s transition team Joe Biden to meet his counterparts in the intelligence services under the Pentagon this week.

This was said by a former senior intelligence official close to Biden’s intelligence transition team CNN, Saturday (5/12).

According to him, Biden’s team has not been able to meet with officials of the military intelligence services under the US Department of Defense, including the Defense Intelligence Service (DIA) and the National Security Agency (NSA).

However, the Pentagon denied these allegations. A senior defense official said the Pentagon was already briefing transitional officials on military issues, including senior-level policy and international security issues, but not on intelligence.

The Washington Post first reported on the Biden team’s problems with the Department of Defense transitional office related to efforts to propagate a conspiracy theory for the elected president

Last week, plans for a meeting between the agency’s review team under Biden’s responsibility and various defense intelligence agencies were drawn up.

However, the Pentagon later stated that Biden’s team would not engage with defense intelligence services until they provided a questionnaire in advance and listed the names of those who participated in the meeting.

The Biden team’s request will later be reviewed by the Department of Defense’s general adviser and Kash Patel, a Trump loyalist appointed to lead the Pentagon’s transition.

Pentagon spokesman Sue Gough denied there were any problems in the meeting between Biden’s team and intelligence officials at the US Department of Defense.

“The review team has not been denied access. We are continuing to work to schedule all requested interviews, briefings and updates,” he argued.

A defense official said Biden’s transition team for intelligence had coordinated directly with intelligence agencies for interviews, briefings and site visits.

Later, the Pentagon has asked them to contact Patel for all interview requests and site visits. Gough said an interim visit would be scheduled next week.

Meanwhile, the spokesman for the Biden Transition Team, Ned Price, declined to comment.
