Pelé: his family assures that his state of health does not represent a “risk”

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pele, was admitted to the Albert-Einstein hospital in São Paulo on Tuesday for a reevaluation of his treatment for colon cancer. His respiratory infection is “treated with antibiotics,” doctors said at the time. The hospital said on Saturday that his condition was “stable” and that he was responding well to the treatment he had been given to fight his respiratory infection. The hospital’s communications department made the same observation to AFP on Sunday. Pele himself, 82, said on Saturday that he felt “strong and full of hope”.
