In Wijchen a pedestrian was killed tonight after a collision with a delivery van. The driver took off, but has since been arrested.
According to Gelderland broadcaster the motorist and the pedestrian got into an argument in a residential area. “After that, the collision took place, but we are still investigating what exactly happened,” said a police spokesman.
The victim died on the spot. Shortly after the collision, the vehicle was seen in Beuningen, where the police ran over and arrested the driver.
The fatal victim is a 42 year old man from Wijchen. The police cannot yet say anything about the identity of the suspect.
