Numerous events are planned to draw attention to “the threats to peace within our society”.
(BZ). The Markgrfler Peace Weeks will take place for the 44th time this November. The events want to draw attention to the threats to peace within our society by growing nationalist forces, according to the organizer, the Markgrflerland Peace Council. According to the organizers, the peace weeks offer “a rich program for discussion and action on the following topics: End the wars! Hate, violence. Peace now!”

Tuesday, November 3rd: 7 pm, in the Mllheim cinema, Werderstrae 23a, “The silence screams”. Documentary about the fate of two Jewish families from Augsburg. At the end of the film there is an opportunity to talk to the filmmaker Josef Prll. Free entry. Organizer: DGB Markgrflerland.
Monday, November 9th: 5 p.m., from the Evangelical City Church in Werderstrae, Mllheim, silent march in memory of the murdered Jewish people from Mllheim – against today’s pogroms. Organizer: Friedensrat Markgrflerland.
Friday, November 13th: 5 p.m., Niederweiler cemetery, memory of Julian Garlewicz, a Polish slave laborer who was murdered in Niederweiler in 1942 because he loved a German woman. Organizer: Friedensrat Markgrflerland.
Sunday, November 15th: 11.30 a.m., Mllheim old cemetery, for a day of national mourning without military. Do not add new victims to victims of past wars! Organizer: Friedensrat Markgrflerland.
Tuesday, November 17th: 8 p.m., in the Mllheim Evangelical Community Hall, behind the Evangelical City Church. Nonviolent alternatives to the military in Mali. Video chat with Dr. Anthea Bethge, EIRENE, on the war in Mali. Organizer: AK Peace in the Evangelical Church District Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald.
