PDI-P’s Chairperson to Meet with Democratic Party Leader for Peace Talks

Chairman of the DPP PDIP as well as chairman DPR RI Puan Maharani is reported to be meeting with the General Leader Democratic party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) after busy exploring cooperation between the two parties.

The plan for the meeting was announced by PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto after attending the inauguration of the hospital ship at Tanjung Priok Port, North Jakarta, Saturday (10/6).

“Later, Mbak Puan will meet with Mas AHY to have a dialogue, but we respect political ethics,” said Hasto.

However, he did not provide more details on the time and agenda of the meeting.

“Yes, after the inauguration [kapal rumah sakit ] Admiral Malahayati, we will see the schedules in the DPR later,” he said.

The Democratic Party formed a coalition with the NasDem Party and the PKS appointed Anis Baswedan as vice president.

Democratic Party general chairman Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono is predicted to be Anies’ vice presidential candidate. However, until now it has not been clear who is accompanying Anies.

Meanwhile, the PDI-P has nominated Ganjar Pranowo as a presidential candidate for next year’s general election.

Hasto then said that PDIP respected the parties that had formed a partnership. However, Hasto did not deny that dialogue is an important part of establishing cooperation.

“We can differ politically, but when there are spaces for dialogue especially for the interests of the people, nation and state, that is a positive thing,” he said.

On that occasion, Hasto also said that PDIP held meetings with a number of parties such as Golkar and PKB.

PDI-P recently attempted to cooperate with the Democrats. On Friday, Hasto stated the seriousness of the party bearing the bull logo to hook the Democrats.

“We humbly offer a partnership,” said Hasto at the PDIP DPP Office, Jakarta.

A signal of an invitation to cooperate also appeared from the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Puan Maharani. At that time, he revealed several names of figures who were on the radar of Ganjar’s vice presidential candidate.

They are Mahfud MD, Erick Thohir, Sandiaga Uno, to Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono as General Chair of the Democratic Party.

In response to the call for cooperation, the Democratic Party declined to comment further.

Deputy Election Winning Body (Bappilu) DPP Democratic Party Kamhar Lakumani stated that his party was currently discussing the matter and would present it to the public at a later date.

“It’s being discussed, there will be submissions regarding this later,” Kamhar told CNNIndonesia.com when asked for confirmation, this Saturday.
